Several hundred residents showed up at Golden Heart Ministries this past Saturday for the last weekend of the summer break backpack give away. Golden Heart Ministries also provided bags of grocery items and an inspirational message from Pastor Fernando Lopez. Teams of volunteers engaged attendees with water ballon tosses, games and music as well as a free hot dog meal completely free.
200 back packs as well as basic school supplies were provided at the El Popular booth along with the California Stop the Hate resource cards for students to carry in their backpacks during the school year. Parents were also provided resource guides to take home and information on how to report hate incidents and hate related crimes as part of the Ca vs Hate Campaign.

The event was organized in conjunction with Feed it Forward and Golden Heart Ministries.
