BAKERSFIELD, CALIF. August 22 — Candidate for the Fifth District Kim Salas held a press conference outside the Kern County Administrative Building this past Thursday to announce that Kern County’s leading Public Safety organizations have unified behind her in her race for Supervisor against Leticia Perez for the 5th District.

   Pérez made her own announcement that she has the endorsement of Kern County Sherriff Donny Youngblood.

    “Kern Law Enforcement Association (KLEA) is honored to stand with our brothers and sisters in Public Safety to endorse Kimberly Salas for Supervisor,” Tim Caughron, President of KLEA said. “In this race, KLEA is proud to support the candidate that will prioritize public safety and ensure our local organizations have the resources, personnel and support required to deliver effective public safety services to Kern County. Kim Salas is our clear choice.”

   David Nelson, President of Kern County Firefighters Union 1301, commented, “For far too long the residents of the Fifth District have been abandoned through a lack of leadership and representation. The residents deserve better. Kern County Firefighters are proud to stand with Salas. Kimberly Salas is a proven leader who places the public’s health and public safety at the forefront!”

   “Kim Salas has the integrity, hard work ethic, and commitment to Public Safety required to serve the good people of Kern County. We at the Kern County Prosecutors Association (KCPA) stand by Kim Salas in her run for 5th District Supervisor,” remarked Joe Marcano, President of KCPA.

   Max Hernandez with the Bakersfield Police Officers Association (BPOA) stated, “BPOA is behind Kimberly Salas 100%. The residents of the Fifth District need a supervisor who will prioritize the safety of their neighborhoods. Kimberly Salas is the proven leader Kern County needs!”

   “The Fifth District needs new leadership, and residents want change,” Kimberly Salas stated. “I am humbled to be supported by the men and women who put their lives on the line to keep our neighborhoods safe.
