Bakersfield, CA *January 2026 * Houchin Community Blood Bank (HCBB) is kicking off 2026 by celebrating a major milestone: 75 years of saving lives in Kern County and beyond. As part of its anniversary year, HCBB is thanking blood donors with a full month of promotions, giveaways, and special incentives, with even more major initiatives planned throughout the year.

“Celebrating 75 years is a major milestone for Houchin and for the donors who make our work possible,” said Kristel Pollock, Manager of Sponsorships and Fundraising. “As we celebrate our 75th Anniversary, we encourage the community to keep an eye out for the fun events we’ll be hosting all year long. These events are not only a way to thank our donors but also help raise funds to update essential equipment so we can continue saving lives for years to come.”

January 5–10

Successful donors will receive a free personal cheese or pepperoni pizza from Rusty’s Pizza Parlor, while supplies last. Donors will also be entered into a raffle to win a pair of Offspring concert tickets. Raffle entries will be completed in-house using a digital QR code entry form.

January 12–17

All successful donors will receive an HCBB crossbody bag and the first HCBB enamel pin, while supplies last. Donors will also receive a free personal cheese or pepperoni pizza from Rusty’s Pizza Parlor.

January 18–24

In celebration of HCBB’s 75th Anniversary, successful donors will receive a 75th Anniversary Mystery Box. These may include restaurant vouchers, gift cards, and other surprises, while supplies last. Donors will also receive the first HCBB enamel pin and a free personal cheese or pepperoni pizza from Rusty’s Pizza Parlor.

January 25–31

To close out the month, successful donors will be eligible to enter to win a 55-inch Hisense Smart Fire TV just in time for Super Bowl LX. Donors will also receive the first HCBB enamel pin and a free personal cheese or pepperoni pizza from Rusty’s Pizza Parlor, while supplies last.
