Bakersfield, Ca.- Ensuring the safety and well being of our guests and employees, Larry Koman’s BBQ For Our Homeless will go forward as scheduled, Saturday May 9th.
In an effort to bring some joy to those who need it the most, Bakersfield resident, Larry Koman, businessman and member of the Bakersfield City Planning Commission felt that something needed to be done to reach out to those in need. ” Now more than ever, I want the men, women and children who reside at the Bakersfield Homeless Center to take a break from their daily struggles”.
Keeping in mind the right safety measures and protocols, Larry and his team of volunteers will deliver Tri-Tip and hot dogs to clients at the Bakersfield Homeless Center. Willow Ranch Restaurant generously donated all labor costs. Side dishes will include salad, Mac and Cheese and beans, courtesy of Don Bynum at Temblor Brewery.
Organizers are expecting to feed approximately 150 residents, including men, women and children.
Lunch will be served from 12-1pm. The Bakersfield Homeless Center is located at 1600 East Truxtun Avenue.
The special luncheon is free for the clients at the center. All costs have been underwritten by Larry Koman and his sponsors.
“I can’t imagine a tougher time for our homeless population, I’m glad I am able to give back a little something to help others who are less fortunate”, Larry exclaimed.
Plans are already in the works for the 3rd Annual Larry Koman Bakersfield Homeless Center BBQ.
