The California Highway Patrol (CHP) Central Division will be conducting a Rapid Arrest of Intoxicated Drivers (RAID) operation, deploying DUI Saturation Patrol Task Forces throughout Kern County. This targeted enforcement effort is part of the ongoing commitment to reduce the number of DUI-related crashes, injuries, and fatalities in the Central Valley. CHP Officers will be deployed as part of this operation within Kern County on Saturday, July 26, 2025.

In 2022 alone, CHP Central Division investigated 1,237 DUI-related crashes, many resulting in serious injuries or fatalities. In response to these alarming statistics, the CHP, with funding from the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) through the Bring Impairment Down (BID) grant, is intensifying enforcement efforts to deter impaired driving and enhance roadway safety.

The mission of the RAID operation is to:

  • Proactively remove impaired drivers from the road.
  • Identify contributing factors to DUI-related crashes.
  • Increase public awareness about the dangers and consequences of impaired driving.

This operation highlights the CHP’s dedication to protecting the lives of California’s motorists by using strategic, data-driven enforcement to combat impaired driving.

The mission of the CHP continues, as we strive to provide the highest level of Safety, Service, and Security.
