Houchin Community Blood Bank (HCBB) is giving the community another great reason to roll up their sleeves and save lives. From April 6 through April 12, all successful blood donors will be entered into a raffle to win a pair of tickets to the highly anticipated Bakersfield Mac & Cheese Festival on April 19. A total of 50 lucky winners will be selected at the end of the promotional period.

Houchin’s blood inventory continues to see challenges as an increase in demand from local hospitals has spiked in recent weeks. While this surge in usage reflects lives being saved, it also highlights an urgent need for replenishing supplies to ensure the next patient receives the lifesaving blood they require.

To help meet the ongoing demand, Houchin is calling on donors of all blood types, with a special emphasis on the following urgently needed types:

·         A Positive

·         B Negative

·         O Negative

·         O Positive

Community members are encouraged to donate at any Houchin Community Blood Bank donor center or mobile drive during the promotional period. Every donation makes a difference, and now, it also comes with a chance to enjoy one of Bakersfield’s most delicious events!
