Bakersfield, CA – The Bakersfield Police Activities League (BPAL), in proud partnership with the Anand Legacy Foundation (ALF), is excited to announce the launch of the “Light Up the Night” Capital Campaign—a heartfelt effort to raise $150,000 in Phase 2 to install stadium lights at the newly renovated BPAL soccer field.

Thanks to a generous Phase 1 donation of $100,000 from ALF, the soccer field has already undergone a remarkable transformation. But we are not done yet. Now we need your help. Phase 2 is focused on bringing light to the field — and with it, hope, safety, and opportunity for youth in underserved areas of Southeast Bakersfield.

“This isn’t just about lighting a field,” said Ajay Anand, Founder of the Anand Legacy Foundation. “It’s about lighting up opportunities, creating safe spaces, and investing in the lives of our kids.”

The Light Up the Night celebration and soccer season Kick-Off event will take place on May 2nd, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Bakersfield Police Activities League, 301 E. 4th Street, Bakersfield, CA. Community leaders, stakeholders, and supporters are invited to join the Anand family in this powerful movement by attending the event and participating in a special sponsorship check presentation during the official soccer season launch.

We are calling on local businesses, organizations, and community members to become sponsors and partners in this important mission. Your support will help us not only light the field— but light the way for hundreds of young lives.
